Missing (1982)

Missing is a 1982 drama directed by Costa-Gavras and starring Jack Lemmon as a father who travels to Chile in an attempt to find his journalist son who has disappeared during the military coup in 1973.

The main rifle seen carried by Chilean Soldiers in the film is the M16A1.
In reality, the standard service rifle of the Chilean Army at the time of the coup was the SIG SG 510-4 in 7.62x51mm NATO.
