Handguns Smith & Wesson 645 Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson ) carries a Smith & Wesson 645 as his primary weapon during the third and fourth seasons of the show. At the time, it was from Smith & Wesson's brand new line of second generation handguns, as the producers wanted to keep up Crockett carrying a State of the Art pistol.

Despite the Daytona Spyder being blow up in "When Irish Eyes Are Crying" episode 1 of season 3. The reason for this is "El Viejo" was the original premiere episode of the season 3. But the producer felt "When Irish Eyes Are Crying" made for a better opening for season 3. Ironically, the reason for this switch is because they thought the Daytona being blown to bits would be better suited for the season premiere.
