Mary Ellen Trainor (1952-2015) was an American actress, known for her appearances in such films as Romancing the Stone (1984), The Goonies (1985), Die Hard (1988), Back to the Future Part II (1989), and Forrest Gump (1994), as well as her role as Dr. Stephanie Woods (originally credited as "Police Psychiatrist") in all four films of the Lethal Weapon franchise. Four of her film appearances were directed by Robert Zemeckis, to whom she was married from 1980 to 2000.

Trainor passed away in 2015, due to complications from pancreatic cancer. Alexander, her son with Zemeckis, was born on December 11, 1985.
