Lucky Luke is a 2009 adaptation of the Belgian comic book of the same name directed by James Huth starring Jean Dujardin as the title character. Being an adaptation of a comic book, the film does not take itself seriously, with exaggerated characters and scenarios, and even a talking horse. Despite being set in Utah, the film was shot in Argentina.

The following weapons were used in the film Lucky Luke (2009):

Handguns

Single Action Army

John "Lucky" Luke (Jean Dujardin) uses an engraved, nickel-plated Colt Single Action Army with custom grips as his main sidearm throughout the film. Many other characters use it as well.

Trivia

Since this movie is based on a comic, there are certain absurdities regarding guns.

Bullet sizes

In one scene, Billy fires two rounds from his small automatic at Luke, who returns fire, only to discover that Luke only fired to intercept his rounds.

The bullets from Billy's automatic have to be much smaller than the rounds from Luke's SAA.

Shell casings

Shell casings are seen piling up behind Jesse and Billy as they fire on some thugs. Jesse and Billy are using a Remington 1858 New Army and Remington 1866 Derringer, respectively, which don't eject shell casings while firing.

The shell casings are crimped, like they came from blank rounds.

Initials

Luke fires to intercept another bullet again in the end, and the entire round, complete with Luke's initials on the shell casing, is seen exiting the barrel.
