The Lahti L-35 is a Finnish manufactured semi-automatic pistol. It was manufactured from 1935 to 1952. The pistol was used by Finland throughout the Winter War (1939-1940) and the Continuation War (1941-1944). The Lahti is a high quality pistol which works reliably in cold weather and when dirty. While aesthetically resembling the Luger P08, the L-35 is more mechanically similar to the Bergmann-Bayard, with recoil-operated action that fires using a concealed hammer and locked breech. The pistol was originally designed to be chambered in both 7.65x21mm and 9x19mm Parabellum (both calibers Finland had great quantities of), but ended up only being chambered for 9x19mm.

A Swedish copy of the L-35 Lahti, the Husqvarna m/40, saw service with the Swedish military until the 1980s when it was replaced with the Glock 17. The m/40 has the same internal design as the Finnish L-35, but was made from lower quality steel. Cracking in the frame was common. The cracking worsened when the Swedish military started shooting hotter 9mm ammo, designed for the Carl Gustav M/45, through the pistol.

Husqvarna m/40 - 9x19mm Parabellum
