It Was in Kokand (a direct translation of the original title Eto bylo v Kokande) is a 1977 Soviet adventure mini series directed by Uchkun Nazarov.

Nagant M1895

Nagant M1895 revolvers are widely used by numerous characters, notably Yusup (Otabek Ganiyev), the Chairman of Kokand Revolutionary Committee (Revcom) Denis Makarovich Avvakumov (Vyacheslav Shalevich), the Chairman of Soldiers Committee of the garrison of Kokand fortress Aleksandr Likholetov (Aleksandr Denisov), the commandant of Kokand fortress, former Russian Army Poruchik (Lt.) Zaychenko (Aleksandr Kaydanovskiy), the brigand chieftan Irgash (Murad Radzhabov) and some Red Army commanders and Irgash's men. Both pre- and post-1930 versions of Nagant can be seen.

Pistols

Mauser C96

Many local Muslim fighters, including Irgash (Murad Radzhabov), Dzhabbar Makhmud (Khamza Umarov), Dalabai (Turgun Azizov), carry Mauser C96 pistols. A Mauser is also carried by Denis Makarovich Avvakumov (Vyacheslav Shalevich); his pistol appears to be an M1930 version.

Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles, standing for original M91s, are widely used by soldiers of Kokand fortress, notably Filimonov (Pyotr Drozdov) and Fedotkin (Viktor Perevalov), Red Army soldiers, and Basmachi, notably Dzhabbar's servant Yarmat (Dzhavlon Khamrayev) and former Basmach Alimat (Nabi Rakhimov).

An armoured train is seen in documentary footage in the opening, posing a vehicle of Russian Civil war. In reality it appears to be a footage of Chinese armoured train captured by Japanese troops in 1938.
