Dardick Model 1500 with "Switch-Hitter" carbine kit - .38 Tround

The Dardick Revolver is a magazine-fed revolver designed by David Dardick in 1949. The unique feature of this revolver is its use of "Trounds", triangular polymer cartridges designed to stack efficiently inside the magazine and be easily picked up by the cylinder. The revolver feeds from an integral magazine that is loaded through a gate on the left side of the frame. The cylinder, while having three exposed chambers in order to pick up Trounds from the magazine, is fully enclosed inside of the frame in order to contain the gas pressure. Trounds are picked up by the left chamber, fired from the top chamber, and ejected from the right chamber.

The base concept behind the Dardick was originally intended for machine guns as a cost-effective and mechanically simpler system compared to contemporary systems; sales of the revolver would've funded further research for the machinegun, but due to its bulk, proprietary ammunition, and overall lack of interest in a novelty weapon design, the Dardick failed commercially.

Multiple models of the Dardick were made, with names derived from their capacities. They were the Model 1100, which was the compact version and held 9 rounds in the magazine, the Model 1500, which was the full-sized variant that held 13, and the Model 2000, which was an experimental model that had an 18-round magazine. Their names do not match their magazine capacities since the two extra rounds that could be chambered in the cylinder were also counted. A "Switch-Hitter" carbine conversion was also available.
