Cop Land (1997)

Cop Land is a 1997 American crime drama written and directed by James Mangold and starring Sylvester Stallone as Freddy Heflin, the sheriff of a small New Jersey town populated almost entirely by New York City cops. Heflin begins to clash with these officers when a young hero officer goes missing and the other cops attempt to cover it up. The film's cast included Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, Robert Patrick, Michael Rapaport, Robert John Burke, Peter Berg, and John Spencer.

The following weapons were used in the film Cop Land:

Smith & Wesson Model 686

The duty weapon carried by Sheriff Freddy Heflin (Sylvester Stallone) is the Smith & Wesson Model 686. He is seen pulling it during the final confrontation.

Smith & Wesson Model 64

Det. Leo Crasky (John Spencer) is seen using what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 64 with a three inch barrel in the climactic shootout with Sheriff Heflin (Sylvester Stallone). This would be accurate since the Model 64 with the 3" barrel was authorized as a carry weapon in the New York City Police Department for a couple years in the eighties. Officers who were employed before the NYPD switched over to semi-auto handguns in 1993 were allowed to retain their revolvers. Leo Crasky is definitely old enough to have been with the NYPD for twenty plus years.
