The G11 is extremely accurate and holds 50 rounds in the magazine. The secondary fire-mode toggles the scope; but while aiming down the scope the rifle can only be fired in 4-round bursts. When the gun runs empty, Chaser does not rotate the cocking handle after a reload. Like the FAMAS G1, the G11 fires 4.7x28mm rounds instead of the correct 4.7x33mm. Referred to as "Heckler & Koch G11" - a rare sight in video games when the manufacturer is also mentioned.

Chaser (2003)

Chaser is a cyberpunk first-person shooter video game developed by Slovakia-based Cauldron (Soldier of Fortune: Payback) in 2003. While the game takes place in 2044, it features real-life weapons (mostly). The story follows John Chaser battling through the galaxy while trying to find out who he really is and why he is being hunted.

For the fictional weapons, visit the discussion page.

The following weapons can be seen in the game Chaser:

Handguns

SIG-Sauer P226

Known as "Sig Sauer P226" in the game, the two-tone P226 is the first pistol Chaser obtains after crash-landing in Montack City. This is one of the most common weapons in the game, used by Yakuza members, Raiders and even Russians. The slide forgets to lock back when the pistol runs dry. Also, the pistol operates in DAK, however does not have a recessed hammer and the decocker is also present.

Taurus PT92

The Taurus PT92 was seen on pre-release screenshots, but was cut from the final game. It was likely replaced with the P226.

Submachine Guns

Beretta PM12S

The Beretta PM12S is known as "Beretta M12" in the game. Appears without its wire stock. Holds only 30 rounds instead of the correct 32. The secondary fire key toggles between semi-auto and full-auto modes.

A futurized variant fitted with a laser sight, known as "Beretta R2" is also present. Visit the discussion page for more info.

Ingram MAC-10

The 9x19mm variant of the MAC-10 is the favorite weapon of the Raiders. It is incorrectly shown firing from a closed bolt instead of open-bolt, and holds 30 rounds whereas the 9mm variant comes with 32-round magazines. The secondary fire key toggles between semi and auto modes. The gun appears as "Ingram Mac10" in the game.

Assault Rifles

AKS-74UN

The AKS-74UN (a variant of the AKS-74U with a factory side-mounted rail for attaching scopes) appears with black bakelite magazines and is fitted with a low-magnification scope. The secondary fire key toggles the scope, but when using the scope the gun can only be fired in semi-auto. The AKS-74UN incorrectly fires 5.56x45mm rounds, and shares ammo with the Colt Model 733.

The in-game AKS-74UN redundantly features an additional mounting point just above the magazine well.

AS Val

The AS Val is known as the "Val Silent Sniper" in the game. Features a hi-tech variable zoom scope (thermal in SP, standard in MP) that strongly resembles the XM29 OICW's scope. Can only be fired in semi-auto mode. The developers probably mistook it for a VSS Vintorez. Even though with many inaccuracies, Chaser is the first known game to feature the AS Val.

Colt Model 733

The Colt Model 733 appears in the game as a usable assault rifle, portrayed with numerous inaccurate features: The in-game model has a non-existent, hybrid upper receiver: has a forward assist and A2 sights, but no casing deflector. Such upper does not exist in real life. For some reason, "AR-15 A2" is stamped on the magazine well, just below the Colt logo. (This could be because probably a civilian AR-15 was used as a modeling reference. Nevertheless, the game was made in Slovakia, where the AR-15-type guns are very uncommon and likely the developers could only get a civilian variant to work with.) Another of the many inaccuracies is that the lower receiver uses the same texture on both sides, hence this the gun has an ambidextrous selector (which is set to "safe").

The secondary fire key allows to toggle between semi, burst, and auto modes. In real life, four position trigger group is only available on the "Enhanced" models of the M4 and M4 Commando, and some older CAR-15 models.

Last but not least, the game refers to the gun as "Colt M4". During the tutorial level it is called "Colt Commando" - regardless to say that both names are incorrect.

FAMAS G1 with built-in M203A1

The FAMAS G1 features a built-in 9" M203 grenade launcher incorporated into the handguard. The M203 has an ability to holds 25 grenades at once, hence this it must not be reloaded. The FAMAS has an incorrect 30-round capacity instead of the correct 25. Known as "FA-MAS". This is the preferred weapon of the Yakuzas in the game. Fires non-existent 4.7x28mm rounds.

Heckler & Koch G11 K2

The Heckler & Koch G11 K2 is the first weapon Chaser can obtain in the game. It is used by the hit squad sent to spaceship H.M.S. Majestic during the first level, and later by guards and inmates on Mars.

Heckler & Koch XM29 OICW

The Heckler & Koch XM29 OICW appears in the game as the "OICW" and is shown with iron sights. Its hi-tech scope can be seen on the AS Val. Holds 50 rounds instead of the correct 30. The secondary attack key fires grenades. According to the game, it fires .223EMP rounds, which are very effective against Exoskeletons.

After the warehouse shootout, the XM29 becomes Kabir's preferred weapon. By the player, it is only usable after arriving to Mars.
