Alexander Petrovich Dovzhenko (Ukrainian: Oleksander Petrovych Dovzhenko) (September 10 (Old Style August 29), 1894 – November 25, 1956) was a famous Soviet film director and screenwriter of Ukrainian origin. The Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kiev was named in his honour.
