Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn (2015)

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn, originally titled Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter HD for it's initial release on the PlayStation Store before being renamed for the PC/Steam release, is a hunting simulator video game from 2015 serving as both a reboot of the Carnivores franchise and a remake of the 1998 video game Carnivores. Like previous games, players take on the role of a wealthy hunter stalking a distant planet for trophy dinosaurs like the Triceratops or Tyrannosaurus.

The following weapons appear in the video game Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn:

Revolvers

Chiappa Rhino/Mateba 2006M Hybrid

Available as an optional sidearm is a revolver that is largely based on the design of the Chiappa Rhino 50DS. Differences from the real thing include squared vents in the vein of Mateba Model 6 Unica and rear sights that are built into the double-action hammer rather than being mounted on the frame. The frame itself appears to be more closely modeled on the Mateba 2006M while having the pitched forward design of the Rhino. The weapon holds six rounds, has a digital forest camo, and is loaded from a speed loader.

The hybrid revolver on the perk select screen. Unlike the previous games where a handgun was the player's starting weapon, the revolver must be unlocked with in-game currency acquired through successful hunts. Note the notification reminding us that this game is being run through Steam.

The hybrid revolver at the ready. Unlike previous hunting titles in the series, weapons can now be fired from the hip.

Aiming down the sights shows the interesting sight picture the revolver has, including it's rather interesting rear-sight setup. Although it is only ever fired in double-action, single-action firing, if available for this fictional revolver, could likely result in difficulties with accuracy.

The hunter reloads the revolver with a matching speed loader.

The hunter shuts the cylinder with their left hand right before handing it back to the other hand. Note the ported barrel and that the gun is loaded with "The Bullet" brand bullets.

Rifles

C1 Dinoslayer Limited Edition

The first available weapon in the game is a stylish bolt-action rifle dubbed as the C1 Dinoslayer Limited Edition. It has a three round capacity and seems to be loosely based on the Blaser R93 line of hunting rifles.

The the C1 Dinoslayer is held at the ready. The fine wood and engraved metal gives the appearance of a very expensive rifle, which is fitting as the backstories of the games tend to allude to the dinosaur hunts as very pricey affairs for the super rich only.

Sprinting with the weapon reveals the name of the gun. In the menus it's simply referred to as "Rifle."

Accuracy International Arctic Warfare 50

The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare 50 appears in the game simply as the "Sniper Rifle." Although more commonly seen with a bipod and stock rest, in the game it appears with neither. The weapon cannot be reloaded, leaving the player with just the rounds in their single magazine. However, the ammo counter seems to count each individual chamber of a new round as a reload.

The AW50F on the select screen. Although all weapons can be upgraded, the AW50F has some of the more significant upgrades, including faster handling and noise reduction, as the loud report of the rifle will actually scare the dinosaurs away.

The hunter chambers a new round, which the game considers to be a reload.

Other

X-Bow

Returning yet again in the series is the X-Bow weapon. This time it appears to be more of a generic crossbow as opposed to the X-shaped autoloading crossbow seen in the last few games. It now has a scope, a tiger pattern, and can only hold one arrow at a time.
