The two hitmen that shoot "Ross" and later shoot at Bullitt from the Charger during the car chase use a Winchester pump-action shotgun. It is a Winchester Model 1897 pump action shotgun. The Model 1897 was designed by John Browning and had an exposed hammer like a lever action rifle. The version used by the hitman is what is known as a "takedown" model. After he shoots the Ross impersonator you can see it taken down whne he seperates the barrel/magazine from the reciever. It also appears the the hitman's model has had the barrel cut down to at least 18". Hard to tell if the rifle stock was cut down.
