Best of the Best 3: No Turning Back (1995)

GE M134 Minigun Handheld

Donnie Hansen (Mark Rolston) purchases and uses a custom hand held GE M134 Minigun featuring shortened barrels and a set of grips that bolt directly onto the gun housing. Just before Hansen test fires the weapon, you can see the cables powering the Minigun attached and leading into the trunk of the vehicle. When he uses it later in a mobile capacity, there is no obvious power source for the weapon on his person. Like in Predator, the power source was hidden off camera and in the context of the movie the power requirement was simply ignored. Unlike most Hollywood handheld Miniguns, this one doesn't have an ammo backpack, instead it is fed from a single belt loaded in a 3-foot ammo chute. When Donnie attempts to use the weapon against Tommy Lee, his ammo lasts for all of four seconds of on screen firing. Donnie also noticeably struggles while while trying to chase down Tommy Lee while carrying the 40-50 pound Minigun at his hip. The portrayal of the handheld Minigun in this movie almost a complete argument to the concept. Other than looking cool, it does nothing and only slows down the villain.

Airsoft handheld M134 Minigun with 'Chainsaw grip' to handle the recoil force. This variant was seen in Terminator 2: Judgement Day. This is an airsoft version which retains the half-circle attachment point for the M60 foregrip from Predator; the real T2 minigun did not have this - (fake) 7.62x51mm NATO

Donnie is offered the Minigun. Note the pistol grip on the "Death Machine" Minigun in Call of Duty: Black Ops is very similar to the one used in this film.

No magazine; just a belt through the chute.
