The right appellation varies from model to model. The general term used is 2011 (derived from the evolution of a 1911). It is basically a double stacked 1911, allowing more than 7 bullets to be stored in the magazine, hence the nickname "hicapa". - There is also an airsoft company that sells this 1911 style weapon with the product name "Hi Capa" on the grip. I have one.

Unknown Pistol

This unknown pistol is seen sitting on Toorop's table. However, the size and shape of the magazine well and the extremely wide lanyard loop show that this firearm could be a modified Beretta 93R without grips.

Toorop shows the seller that the gun misfires by aiming at him and pulling the trigger.

The Vector coincidentally must be fired with two hands. The shooters weak hand must engage the red button at the front of the trigger guard for the pistol to function. The irony is, someone not acquainted with the firearm would not be able to operate it, hence Toorop returning the pistol he feels is defective. The question is: Does Toorop not know the firearm or was this an idea come up with on set for the scene?

Actually I believe the safety is engaged when the lever is pushed back. If I'm wrong please forgive me. "To set on Safe, the button must be pressed rearward from the front; to set on Fire, the button must be pressed forward from inside the trigger guard."

It's a safety switch, it does not need to be continually depressed to fire the gun. Note how in XXX Yelena can fire her Vector with one hand. - Gunmaster45

You can hear a beeping noise as he holds the pistol on the seller, sort of like the Custom 1911 used later. This doesn't really mean anything, but it might explain that they used this gun because of its futuristic look to be some sort of advanced firearm.

The gun can be fired with one hand. The safety is designed so that when holstered the safety that sits in front of the trigger guard is engaged when holstered. However if you push it forward (that's towards the muzzle from within the trigger guard) it is off and can be fired one handed or two handed. It does by no means need to be depressed all the time to be able to fire. Good idea but bad triggers and badly implemented. So we (South Africans) can't make a good pistol. Sue us. ;) - potentpoefie

M4/M4A1

The M4A1 Carbine is wielded multiple times in the movie by Toorop and his enemies. Toorop can also be seen using an M4, distinguishable from the M4A1 by the fixed carry handle/rear sight.

Um, wouldn't it be easier to get an M4A1 instead of converting a M4? Plus, the M4 Toorop had during that shootout was full auto. And M4s come with removable handrails. ALL M4 series have removable handrails.
You are incorrect sir, the very first delivery order of M4's did not have the flat top receiver with Picatinny rail like subsequent deliveries, So with the exception that it fires in full auto, the M4 Toorop uses is an early M4 and not a later M4 or M4A1.
