The A-91 is a bullpup assault rifle / grenade launcher system developed by KBP Instrument Design Bureau. Its design is derived from the 9A-91, and is in some ways a bullpup version of the 9A-91. The rifle has two variants, A-91 and 5.56A-91 (often rendered as 5,56A-91 due to the use of the comma as a decimal point in Russian). Both feature an integrated 40mm under-barrel grenade launcher.

ADS Amphibious Rifle

ADS amphibious rifle - 5.45x39mm / 40mm

The ADS Amphibious Rifle (Автомат Двухсредный Специальный, Special Dual-Medium Assault Rifle) is a dual-medium assault rifle based on the A-91, with a lineage tracing back to the original Soviet APS Underwater Rifle and prototype bullpup designs of the ASM-DT. The ADS uses AK-74 magazines, and its underwater properties depend on the ammo used. Standard 5.45x39mm rounds are used above ground, while 5.45x39mm PSP rounds are used underwater. The PSP uses standard 5.45x39mm casings and has dimensions that allow it to fit AK-74 magazines, but what makes it different is its bullet, which is a much longer saboted 53mm metal projectile with a flat nose giving it supercavitating properties.

The ADS itself is modified from the A-91 with the addition of an "air-water" switch for the gas system to configure the weapon to the intended environment.
