8 Million Ways to Die is a 1986 crime thriller directed by Hal Ashby (The Last Detail) and stars Jeff Bridges as Matthew "Matt" Scudder, an LA Sheriff's Deputy whose career and family life are in shambles due to his alcohol addiction and a tragic shooting. He then finds himself unknowingly involved in an underground drug and prostitution ring. This was the final film directed by Ashby, and the screenplay was co-written by several well-known writers, including Oliver Stone.

Smith & Wesson Model 66
Matt Scudder's (Jeff Bridges) service sidearm is a Smith & Wesson Model 66 with 4" barrel. Chance (Randy Brooks) carries a snub nose Model 66.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
Scudder's parthner Joe Durkin (Vyto Ruginis) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 19 in the opening scene. Chance's Nose Guard (Tommy "Tiny" Lister) is also seen with a supposed Model 19.
Unidentified snub nose revolver
Scudder's backup weapon is a snub nose revolver. It lacks a front sight.
Pistols
Heckler & Koch P9S
In several scenes, Matt Scudder (Jeff Bridges) is seen with a Heckler & Koch P9S.
Colt Mustang
Matt Scudder (Jeff Bridges) holds a compact pistol that appears to be a Colt Mustang.
Walther PP
In the final scene Angel Maldonado (Andy Garcia) fires a pistol. It is seen very poor but its shape resembles Walther PP.
Submachine Guns
Cobray M11/9
In the final scene, Maldonado's henchman Quintero (Vance Valencia) is armed with a Cobray M11/9 SMG.
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
During the encounter in warehouse, Mundo (Fred Asparagus), another Maldonado's henchman, holds Sarah at gunpoint with a double barreled shotgun with sawn-off buttstock.
Unidentified pump action shotgun
In the opening scene one of deputies is armed with a pump action shotgun that is seen only in distance.

Hand Grenade
During the encounter in warehouse, Matt Scudder (Jeff Bridges) holds a hand grenade that resembles some version of MK3.
