100 Rifles is a 1969 Western directed by Tom Gries and adapted from the 1966 novel The Californio by Robert MacLeod. The film is set in 1912, as black bounty hunter Lyedecker (Jim Brown) in Mexico looking for Joe Herrera (Burt Reynolds), who in the United States robbed a bank and took six thousand dollars. When he finally finds Herrera in cruel captivity, General Verdugo (Fernando Lamas), who is trying to cleanse the land from the Indians Yaqui and the only way he knows their killing. But Herrera is half Yaqui and uses the stolen money to buy guns for his cousins and rid the land of the cruel tyrant. Along to aid is a beautiful Indian woman Sarita (Raquel Welch).
