I am originally from Miami, FL. My parents raised me in a very liberal household, except they always taught us an appreciation of firearms for self-defense. My father gave me my first rifle (a Ruger 10/22) when I was 13 years as my Bar Mitzvah present. I continued enjoying the shooting sports throughout high-school, and actively competed in biathlon (a winter sport combining cross country skiing and shooting). My appreciation with weapons continued while in college. Dartmouth College, in New Hampshire, is one of the few schools in the US that has gun lockers for students and an excellent gun range. My fraternity friends and I would frequently go shooting on weekends. Post-college I worked as an investment banker and worked on many defense deals (2005-2006 defense was a primary vertical of Industrials). With my bonus money, my friend from high school, who was completing his Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering, decided to open up a gun shop. He was in Vidalia, GA for work and we opened up there and called our shop Vidalia Police Supply (www.vidaliapolicesupply.com). VPS is a Type 07/Class 2 FFL holder and we manufacture many unique items in the shop. Our primary customers are local and state police departments, prisons, nuclear powerplants, and OGAs (other governmental agencies). We recently launched a new brand, Kavod Custom, which is a custom manufacturer of high-end AR-15's (www.kavodcustom.com).
