Falcon Statue

The last time I was in Malta, I was really disappointed. No one sold a falcon statue ;) Seriously. If they want something for the tourists to snatch up, a cheap Falcon statue made in China would be the trick. :) I tried to explain it to dozens of small shop owners and they didn't know what I was talking about. It struck me as an obvious "tourist" thing to sell. MoviePropMaster2008 13:41, 10 December 2011 (CST)

Luger

In one scene, The "lady" told Sam Spade that his previous "protector" uses a Luger as one of his sidearms. I wonder, if the producers of the movie in that time showed that particular Luger, it will be a german model, or it would be an american Luger? Lets remember that in the early 20's (if I'm not wrong) the US army bought Lugers under the license of the german factory. Also lets remember that the movie was set in 1941, one year early of the intervention on US in the World War II. User:Rodrigo79 08:50, 29 January 2013

At that time there were planty of Lugers that had been imported into the U.S. None were madeItalic text'here. Both 7.65 and 9 mm were available. There is a 7.65mm with a 32 round snail drum magazine out there reportedly taken off the gangster Legs Diamond. Also in addition to regular importation by Stoeger IIRC, there had been WWI trophys brought back by returning doughboys. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip, man. It would be interesting seen the tanker Luger, with the 32 round drum, used as a submachine gun in a movie or a TV series, like "Boardwalk Empire" for example, wright? User:Rodrigo79 08:20, 30 January 2013

It would indeed;I've had the same thought myself. A Luger so equipped would still be semiauto though, and I suspect the snail drums, besdies being all collectors items, might not be all that reliable.
