Sahara (1995)

Sahara (aka Desert Storm) is the 1995 remake of the 1943 classic WWII film that starred Humphrey Bogart. Directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith, the film features James Belushi in the Bogart role.

The following weapons were used in the film Sahara:


M1928A1 Thompson

M1928A1 Thompson submachine guns are used by Sgt. Gunn (James Belushi), Jimmy (Mark Lee), Waco (Paul Empson) and Bates (Alan David Lee). Sgt. Gunn and Bates uses it until run dry, Jimmy gets shot by German soldiers while firing it and Waco never fire.

Browning M1919A4

Removed from the tank, a Browning M1919A4 contributes a lot in the fight against the Germans. While, mostly used by Tambul (Robert Wisdom), it is later picked by Sgt. Gunn. Sgt. Gunn (James Belushi) also use it to shoot German Aircraft at the beginning of the film.

Bren Light Machine Gun

Bren Light Machine Gun is carry by two British soldiers, Casey (William Upjohn) and William (Simon Westaway), they use it to against German soldiers. When they dead, one of their Brens is taken by Bates (Alan David Lee) and he uses it in the second attack of German soldiers. Bren is British army's main light machine gun in WW2.

Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk III SMLE

LeRoux (Michael Massee) and Sergeant-Major Tambul (Robert Wisdom) carry Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk III SMLEs as their main weapon with a bayonets. LeRoux uses it until he die, he uses it during two attack of German soldiers and Sergeant-Major Tambul never use it.

Karabiner 98k

Karabiner 98k is standard rifle of German army during World War II, known to be Hitler's favorite rifle. Many German soldiers use this rifle to attack the Allies soldiers during both two attack in this film.

MP40

Many German soldiers carry MP40s along with their Karabiner 98ks. Some of the Allies soldiers are Bates (Alan David Lee), Sergeant-Major Tambul (Robert Wisdom), Waco (Paul Empson) also use their captured MP40s to against German soldiers when their main weapon run dry. Most notably Sgt. Gunn at the end of the film.

MG34

MG34 is used by German soldiers during both two attacks in the film. Near the end of the film, Bates (Alan David Lee) is seen holding this gun but he never fired.

MG42

MG42 is seen mounted on German half-track. Later Captain Halliday (Jerome Ehlers) takes this gun to against German soldiers. German soldiers also use it along with their MG34s, they use it during both two attacks.

Sergeant Gunn carries one Colt M1911A1 as main sidearm throughout the film, but he never use.

A Luger P08 is the sidearm of the German pilot gunned down by Sgt. Gunn. This gun never fired in the film.

Walther P38

A Walther P38 is the sidearm of the German commanding officer, which he uses to execute the soldier who gave up Gunn's information about the German forces. Later, LaRoux takes it away after stabbing the officer and shoots a German soldier who accompanied the officer to the negotiations.
