Legenda o živých mrtvých (English: Legend of the Living Dead) is a Czech TV four-part movie made in 1971 and recounts the story about the partisan movement in Moravia at the end of WWII. The commander of local garrison major Lenz (Jirí Dušek) fights with his honor and the duties of a German soldier and on the other hand, his conscience. He prefer to his conscience. Significant influence on his decision had his driver, Tony Adler (Stanislav Zindulka) - anti-fascist who has links with the partisans. Lenz's opponent - Gestapo head Klein (Rudolf Jurda)with the assistance of zealous SS officer Lieblein (Ladislav Lakomý), gets information on partisan´s radio. The heroic struggle and death of two Soviet woman-operators Tanya (Jana Švandová) and Valya (Zdena Kruzíková) prevents detection of hiding. Vasil (Ladislav Vecera) partisan´s commander and his commissioner Michael (Josef Šebek) has interested with Lenz to meet, even though he suspected of ambivalent game. Michael unfortunately is wounded in the firefight and then falls in the fight against the odds with his fiancee Helena (Renáta Doleželová). But the result of cooperation with Lenz is a finally revealing of the true traitor Felix, who is caught and shot. He was the son of Countess Eva (Vlasta Fialová), who avenges his death, when to Lenz attract into the trap of the castle and shoot him. The story ends with a few days before the arrival of the Red Army.
