Dark Sun (Temné slunce)
Dark Sun (Temné slunce) is a Czech film from 1982 directed by Otakar Vávra. Remake of his film Krakatit (1948). Modern paraphrase a literary classic about the absurdity of war and potential abuses of science. Ing. Prokop (Radoslav Brzobohatý) made a remarkable discovery. His experiments give to rise of explosive with unimaginable destructive powers. At that moment drew around him a network of the international interests, which trying to take advantage of the invention for war purposes. Prokop becomes a pilgrim on the road full of devilish temptations, intrigue and frustration, when he meets a mysterious girl named Kris (Magda Vasáryová). The two-part movie by Otakar Vavra's novel is loosely paraphrase Karl Krakatit cap, which carries the narrative form of the classical humanist message of Czech writers into the eighties.
