Hello and welcome to IMFDB, now read the rules

The rules state that a page must have at least ONE REAL firearm on it and that firearm must be plot relevant or it does not qualify to be on IMFDB and will be deleted. The same goes for any page which does not have screencaps either. If you need help, please post requests for assistance on the main page and there are many IMFDB members who are willing to help with suggestions. MoviePropMaster2008

Friends page?

Zombie Killer, did you not read the above comment? One tranquilizer pistol doesn't constitute a firearm. You have been warned. --Ben41 08:40, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Ok thanks for the message put I don't no how to delete this page

Thanks for your cooperation, Zombie Killer 1995. :) MoviePropMaster2008 20:28, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Poster screencap for Zombie Diaries

Whenever possible we strive for a screencap of the actual theatrical release poster instead of the DVD release. Other than that the page looks fine. Read the rules where it sattes that your page can be edited by other users. Nothing personal. I've had several of my pages edited over the past couple of years.Just want to make sure there are no misunderstandings and welcome. --Jcordell 15:51, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Friends

I wouldn't have deleted the Friends page, but since you had removed all the content. I figured you wanted me to. --Predator20 17:40, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

re-uploading existing images

Don't upload thumbnail images that we already have on the site. (Colt Python etc) Use what we already have and thumbnail them to the size you want. --Predator20 20:25, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Huh? What are you doing? Zombie Killer 1995? You're uploading the Python pic again. You don't need to do that. You can RESIZE the original pic to whatever thumbnail size you want. If you need help doing this, please ask and we'll help. MoviePropMaster2008 20:31, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Resizing, yes that's fine, but don't go over 500px on stock gun pics. Most keep them below 400px. On your personal page you can blow them up to 1000px if you want. --Predator20 20:38, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

What the problem is

The problem is that you are making pages that are not up to the minimum standards. Some examples:

1. Alien: the flamethrower used was NOT the M240 used in Aliens. This page will be modified so you have an example on how it should look. If you are unsure, please use the discussion page to post questions.

2. Phoenix Nights as well as some of your other pages are not in the proper format established. Please refer to a previously made page such as Resident Evil: Apocalypse or Saving Private Ryan to see how movie pages are formatted.

3. Your filenames are too long. You've uploaded several poster and cover images that need to be renamed for you upload.

Also, please show some respect to the moderators who just want to help you. A banning of privileges could be administered for disrespectful behavior to moderators or even other users. --Ben41 22:32, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Alien Flamethrower

Yes, a custom flamethrower was used, but it was NOT the one that you indicated was used. It would be have been more correct to put "custom flamethrower" or similar in design to the one used in Aliens. --Ben41 00:46, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

M870 and M11 pic

We already have stock images of these guns. Please use the images we have instead of uploading duplicates.--PistolJunkie 22:38, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

re:delete

You can't, only administrators and moderators can. If you need to mark something for deletion add [[Category:Delete]] to it. With images you click edit and add it the same way you would do a page.--Predator20 23:33, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Dead Heist

In the future, please try to find higher quality sources for your screenshots. It was very difficult trying to identify the weapons due to the quality. A good screen capture program is called Fast Stone Image Viewer. Also, please write your own synopsis of the film and do not copy from other sources. --Ben41 07:13, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

incomplete

That incomplete tag is on there because the pages do not have screecaps. Once it has them, the tag can be taken off.--Predator20 22:55, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Gun Images

Not only do we already have images for all the guns you uploaded for the Zombies of Mass Destruction page, but it appears that all the stock images that you uploaded are just lower-quality copies of the ones we already have. Please do not upload new gun images if we already have them here.--PistolJunkie 20:26, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Synposys

Not to beat a dead horse here, but another thing is that IMFDB doesn't allow wholesale plagiarism of movie synopses at the top of the movie page. Though it is short, your synopsis of Zombies of Mass Destruction, is lifted directly from the first tagline from IMDB. This is explicitly stated in IMFDB rules that you must write out your own synopsis or summary in your own words. MoviePropMaster2008 21:52, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

advertisements

Sorry, got to have them to keep the site going. They know it's causing some problems and are trying to get it fixed. --Predator20 22:00, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Zombies of Mass Destruction

Where are these screenshots from? It doesn't look like a legitimate source. If they're from a streaming source, you may want to try a different screen grab program (like I said before, Fast Stone Image Viewer). Also, please grab the entire frame, several of the screenshots still have some of the black bars visible. --Ben41 23:04, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Images

In the second pic, it's definitely not a 1911. I don't think it's a 9000S either. Why are the faces blocked out?--Predator20 01:35, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

I don't think it is. It looks sort of like a SIG, but it appears to have a slide mounted safety, which SIGs don't have. Maybe a S&W auto. Sorry I couldn't be more help. --Predator20 01:52, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Please stop

We already have all the images you're uploading. Go and find the pages and link to the existing images, don't upload new copies. Evil Tim 12:38, 7 May 2011 (CDT)

If you need to maintain a list of things, use Microsoft Word. You can do this here if you just use wikicode to resize the images that are already on the server. Just go to a page and hit "edit" to look at the code required to resize an image, then copy and paste it and change the appropriate file name. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 12:57, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
If you resize the images using wikicode, then yes. Also sign your messages, there's a toolbar at the top of the text editing box. The second button from the right will automatically add the wikicode for signatures. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:04, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
Wikicode is the text language that wiki software uses for formatting. Open any page and hit "edit" and then look around the text, you'll see wikicode everywhere. Tables, image frames, links, bolding, italicizing, headers, all are made possible with wikicode. This http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Cheatsheet will give you some basic wikicode. All you have to do for your images is find a resized image somewhere else on the site, copy the text, paste it in your user page, and then change the image file name to whatever image you need, and the pixel width to whatever suits your needs. Signatures at the end of posts show your name, linked to your user page for easy response, and the time and date of your post. Just hit the second button from the right on the tool bar at the top of the text edit box and your signature will be added automatically with wikicode. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:13, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
OK you've got the signature right, just don't add anything to your post after the signature. The signature ends it, and if you have more to say make a new post and sign that one too. The images though, you don't sign. Try editing your user page with the instructions I gave you for images and see if you do it right. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:22, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
I'm not going to make a video on youtube for you. I will edit one of your pictures so that it is properly formatted, then you can look at the code for it and then you'll know what it's supposed to look like. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:39, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
OK now go to your discussion page and hit edit to view the text. Go down to the text for the Winchester 1200 image. Notice how it now links to the original Winchester 1200 image that was uploaded by MoviePropMaster2008. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:42, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
I just did it with the Winchester 1200. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:44, 7 May 2011 (CDT)
OK now I've done it right. Look at it now, it's correct. Also, when somebody tells you not to do something here, don't do it. Do not continue doing something incorrectly just because you don't understand. --BurtReynoldsMoustache 13:59, 7 May 2011 (CDT)

Images

Zombie Killer 1995, what exactly are you trying to do? You're uploading downsized versions of gun images already on the site, and many of them you uploaded two of the same thing. Are you trying to put them on your user page? If you need help with placing images, just ask, it's alot more simple then what you are doing right now.--Alienqueen11 14:16, 7 May 2011 (CDT)

By "downsized" I mean smaller then the original images you got them off of. Let me show you how to copy images from a page, for example go to the Beretta 92 Series page, and click the edit or view source tab at the top of the page, as you look over the page, the images should look like this: [[Image:BerettaM92FS.jpg|thumb|350px|right|Beretta 92FS - 9x19mm.]]

Just simply copy that text there, and paste on the page of your liking, and see the part fo the text that says |right|, and the part that says |350px|? Well, where it says |right|, you can change it to None, Center, or Left to alter the image's postition on your page, and as for |350px|, you can change the numbers in there to make the images as small or large as you want. Just know the name of the gun image you're looking for, and repeat the process for every image you want to put on your page. I got to go, so I hope this helps, let me know if you're successful so I can delete all the copied images. Good luck.--Alienqueen11 14:34, 7 May 2011 (CDT)

You can make the image as large or small as you want, but we recommend you keep them within 300-350px for use on pages.--Alienqueen11 00:25, 8 May 2011 (CDT)

user page

Do you want me to change the protection level on your user page to registered users only? You'll have to be logged in to edit it. --Predator20 09:14, 8 May 2011 (CDT)

It will keep any anonymous users from vandalizing your page. If you were to try to edit your own user page and are not logged in, you wouldn't be able to. If you usually stay logged in, it won't be a problem. --Predator20 09:23, 8 May 2011 (CDT)
