Mission: Impossible III is the third installment in the Mission: Impossible movie franchise. The 2006 action film was directed by J.J. Abrams (Lost) and once again stars (Tom Cruise) as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt, who is forced by an arms dealer to steal a mysterious weapon known only as "The Rabbit's Foot" in exchange for his kidnapped wife.
During the bridge ambush, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) grabs a Heckler & Koch G36K Assault Rifle from the trunk of his Lincoln Navigator and uses it against the operatives of Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman). Several IMF operatives also carry G36's as they escort Davian from the plane to the convoy.
Several of Davian's men carry the AKMSU during the bridge assault.

Guns just like this one have been used in Tropic Thunder, Three Kings, and numerous other movies and TV shows.Error creating thumbnail: File missingDavian's men armed with AKMSU rifles await the hardening foam to render the armored car brittle enough to smash open.
M4A1
In a flashback sequence, IMF Agent Lindsey Ferris is shown assembling an M4A1 blindfolded during a training exercise.
Ethan uses a Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW with magazines clamped together in the rescue mission to retrieve IMF Agent Lindsey Ferris (Keri Russell).

The Beretta 92FS is the sidearm Ethan carries when he and the IMF convoy are ambushed on the Bay Bridge by operatives of Owen Davian (Phillip Seymour Hoffman). In Shanghai, another Beretta 92FS ends up in Ethan's hands, who proceeds to give it to his wife Julia (Michelle Monaghan). He shows her how to properly load and handle the gun. IMF Agent Musgrave (Billy Crudup), also holds and fires a Beretta.
The Beretta 92G Elite 1A is the sidearm of Ethan Hunt during the mission to rescue Agent Ferris (Keri Russell). He passes it to Ferris during their escape and it is fitted with a tactical flashlight.
Several IMF agents handle the Glock 17 in the film. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) possesses two versions of the Glock while in Shanghai. The first is seen during his infiltration of the military-controlled skyscraper - however, this version seems to only fire tranquilzer darts that subdue the roof guards. He quickly loses the gun in order to prevent himself from falling to his death. The second is seen during the escape and subsequent car chase, Ethan leans out of their car with another Glock 17 (this one firing live rounds) and shoots out a pursuing car's tires, causing a wreck and terminating the chase. Zhen (Maggie Q) also uses one during the bridge ambush.
Hunt uses a Desert Eagle modified to fire camera disablers and with a grappler attachment during the Vatican mission. (It is unusual for this weapon to be used by an American government operative.)
Several Barrett M82 sniper rifles are planted by Ethan in front of the warehouse before the rescue mission. Each rifle is mounted on a remote turret and is fed by two ammo drums (presumably .50BMG). The rate of fire in the movie is most likely a rapid semi-automatic rather than a slow automatic rate of fire. The Barrett rifles are fired remotely by Luther (Ving Rhames).
