When Eric Murphy's (Kevin Connolly) cell phone rings while getting high in "The Script and the Sherpa", the Sherpa (Val Kilmer) and his friend Finley each draw a nickel M1911A1 before putting them away. An actor playing one of Pablo Escobar's thugs in the in-show film Medellin in "Welcome to the Jungle (4.01) uses a black M1911A1 to shoot a man in the head. During the same "film", Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) fires a nickel 1911 in his role as Pablo Escobar.
During the opening shot of "Welcome to the Jungle" (4.01), a Browning M2 can be seen mounted on a truck driving by in the background on the set of Medellin. However, it can be seen much more clearly in the Season 4 "Making of" documentary.
Many of the extras (some hired from the Colombian Army according to the filmmakers) on Medellin in "Welcome to the Jungle" (4.01) carry AK-47s and variants. Several other weapons are seen but are too far away or too briefly seen for clear identification. The AK-carrying actors in the film are portraying Pablo Escobar's cartel henchmen. Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) fires one as Pablo Escobar himself, seen in the fictional trailer for Medellin.
A Colombian soldier can be seen wielding a light machine gun on the Medellin set in "Welcome to the Jungle" (4.01), however the weapon is more clearly seen in the background on the Season 4 "Making of" documentary.
During the final day of production on Medellin in "Welcome to the Jungle" (4.01), Colombian Army soldiers fire M16A2s at Pablo Escobar's hideout in a scene. One of the soldiers is played by Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon). These too are more clearly seen in the Season 4 "Making of" documentary.
In the Medellin trailer, first seen in "The Dream Team" (4.05), one of Pablo Escobar's cartel henchmen is seen carrying what appears to be a Winchester Model 1200 on the back of a truck.
A girl at the firing range in "Unlike a Virgin" (5.02) fires a Smith & Wesson Model 686. L.B. (Lukas Haas) takes one to the "Bullets & Bitches" bar to go meet E in the same episode. Another girl fires the same revolver with Nick's (Giovanni Ribisi) help in "Fire Sale" (5.04).
