M1911A1

During the hostage situation aboard the U.S.S. Nimitz, a captured Japanese Zero pilot (Soon-Tek Oh) commandeers an M1911A1 pistol from a slain Marine guard. Another Marine responding to the crisis is also wielding an M1911A1, but doesn't fire it during the incident.

M16A1 Rifle

MGC MG16 Replica Rifle

Seen in most shots were there is no firing (for safety reasons), the metal Japanese made non firing replica of the M16, the MGC (Model Gun Corp) M16 is visible. Being a non firing replica, the MGC M16's three prong flash hider (Mounted upside down by the way), is cast as one piece with the pot metal barrel. Many Hollywood Movie Prop houses cut off the permanently attached three prong flash hider and welded on an M16A1 style "birdcage" flash hider for some films.
