The weapons seen in this movie are:

M4 carbine

The M4 carbine is a type of an assault rifle which follows the design of the AR family. It fires 5.56 NATO rounds. Magazine capacity differs from 20 rounds up to the standard 30 rounds. A drum mag can also be used. It has a telescopic or retractable stock which has six positions. The M4 is widely seen and used around the world among soldiers, law enforcers, civilians, organizations and other private sectors and is famous because of its accuracy, decent fire power, weight and compactness.

M2HB

The M2HB can be seen in both fixed position mounts and atop vehicles in 28 Weeks Later. It is a belt fed machine gun firing the .50 Caliber Browning Machine Gun cartridge (12.7mm x 99 mm). It is the standard heavy machine gun of the United States Military and of many others around the world, and has been used in nearly every major world conflict since World War I. In the movie it is only used for a short time, when the infected break out of the buildings, they open fire with the M2HB. It can be seen when the train carrying the returning refugees pulls into the rail station, a fortified position sporting an M2HB is visible through the window.
