theHunter: Call of the Wild is the 2017 successor to the 2009 video game theHunter. Like its predecessor, it is a hunting simulator which aims to depict realistic animal behavior and hunting techniques as players hunt across vast tracts of game reserves in multiple biomes.
The following weapons appear in theHunter: Call of the Wild:
The Ruger Mk IV appears under the name "Andersson .22LR" despite the markings on the in-game gun saying "Roger Mark II". It has three different variants, but they are all cosmetics. Like all other handguns, the player can equip a scope or red dot sight on it. It was the only semi-automatic pistol in the game until late September of 2022.
The Smith & Wesson Model 629 Performance Center Hunter appears in the game featuring a compensator and in .357 Magnum instead of .44 Magnum, as the in-game name implies with "Focoso .357". The markings read "MADE IN ITALY Focoso 357 Morreiti". It is the initial revolver available to the player.
A Taurus Judge is available to the player in three different variants with the name "Mangiafico 410/45 Colt", though the variants are cosmetic only. As in real life, the Judge can be chambered in both .45 Long Colt and .410 shells. The in-game revolver appears to have a Smith & Wesson-style barrel, specifically, a barrel from the Smith & Wesson Model 327.
A Single Action Army appears as ".45 Rolleston". It is modelled with a six round cylinder but when reloading, the player skips over one of the chambers, loading it only with five.
An Over and Under Shotgun appears as the initial shotgun for the player, chambered in 12 Gauge with the name "Caversham Steward 12G". The gun is always equipped with a rail.
The Winchester Model 1887 appears in the game as "Miller Model 1891". It is chambered in 10 gauge, making it the most powerful shotgun of the game as of now.
A Remington 870 Wingmaster appears chambered in 12 gauge with the name "Cacciatore 12G". As in the previous game, it is mixed with elements of the Mossberg 500 and Winchester Model 1200/1300, in the form of an extended magazine and trigger guard, respectively.
The Winchester Model 70 appears in the game three times as three different guns, one as ".270 Huntsman", another as ".300 Canning Magnum", and a final model as "Martensson 6.5mm", all chambered in the calibers their names state.
The Sako 85 appears as the starting rifle for the player, called the "Ranger .243". Like several other weapons, it shares the same model from Generation Zero.
The Marlin Model 995 appears as "Virant .22LR", it can be identified as such and not a Ruger 10/22 due to the form of the stock/receiver and use of straight magazines
