Other Weapons

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

An in-dev version of Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with SEF trigger group and railed handguard can be used in CSGO Beta via console commands. The incomplete weapon was later fully replaced by the MP7 and cut from the game. It still appears on the icon for the "Sub-Machine Gun Master" achievement, and the name "weapon_mp5navy" is still present in the game files, but attempting to spawn it will crash the game.

Rumors and speculation of an MP5 variant being re-added to the game were sporadic in the following years, with a resurgence following the discovery of MP5SD files in game files following the major Panorama UI update, before the MP5SD was officially added to the game in August 2018.

Discussion

First Impressions

When I first heard they were releasing a new Counter-Strike, I was ecstatic. Then I read it will be released on consoles as well, then I was disappointed. I still thought they could pull it off, but then I saw there will be cross platform play. Now I'm not so sure. You guy's thoughts?----JazzBlackBelt-- 01:12, 28 August 2011 (CDT)

Well, CS 1.6 and CS:S were obviously the best. When I first heard about CS:GO, I was like "Hmmm, Okay." but then I was like "Wait, what? Where's Half-Life: Episode 3?", because seriously, though, what's the deal? Every year, Valve announcing on a new game, not including EP3, which people are waiting for it the most since the release of EP2. I don't really have HUGE problem with the new CS, but it looks a bit like those free MMOFPS games like War Rock, Combat Arms, etc. --RaNgeR 05:20, 28 August 2011 (CDT)
There are memes regarding Valve's infamous inability to release Half-Life EP3, such as "Valve can't count to 3" or "Whenever you do X, Gabe Newell delays Episode 3 by another week." Sadly I can't say those memes are undeserved. And Global Offensive may be graphically modern but the gameplay (no ADS, no leaning ability) is still quite behind the times.--Mazryonh 17:24, 22 April 2012 (CDT)

I swear 99.9% of actual Valve employees are working on TF2 items... The newest games they've made (excluding Portal 2) have been done by separate companies (IE CS:S updates and CS:GO being done by Hidden Path Entertainment). I wouldn't be surprised if HL(ep)3 is made by a 3rd party company (pun not intended).-Ranger01 15:49, 22 April 2012 (CDT)

I've never played CS before and the graphics and look of most of the weapons (particularly the M933) are nothing short of spot on. Aside from the mention of left side ejection ports (which this one doesn't have, I know), how is it in terms of realism? Are there fire selectors? Is the +1 in the chamber tracked? And all that other good stuff. I can tell from screenshots that ammo is tracked in number of mags rather than by each individual bullet. Most importantly, does it have a single-player campaign or is it strictly multi-player? Spartan198 15:55, 22 April 2012 (CDT)

As far as the originals go (CS, CS: Condition Zero, CS:Source) they are rather unrealistic honestly, very "arcadey". No +1, no fire selectors, no iron sights, etc... I have not played the Global Offensive beta (doesn't really interest me) but from videos and talking to people who have played it, it seems to be pretty much the same.Ranger01 17:12, 22 April 2012 (CDT)

M4A1

The in-world model and purchase icon is correct for the M4A1, but on the first-person image it looks like an M933. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 06:31, 28 August 2011 (CDT)

I noticed that too when I saw the trailer, the world model appears to CS:S' M4A1 so it's most likely a place-holder, I think your right about it being a M933. Right now I modding the heck out of the weapons in my recently rebought CS:S, mostly just HQ, right side ejecting, versions of the default weapons, lol. It saddens me a bit that they replaced the USP Tactical with the P2000, I have nothing against the P2000, but a 9mm P2000 is not a .45 USP Tactical. :\ - Mr. Wolf 11:39, 28 August 2011 (CDT)
Right about the USP, not to mention that it looks better than its half-step-brother P2000. But what the hell is this game anyways?! They change the AUG A1 to A3, P228 to P250 (*sadface*) , add the taser and release it for 50 dollars again? Are they nuts?! Keeping all the guns and adding new ones would be reasonable, but this... this looks like a mod for CS:S, well except that mods are usually free. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 14:01, 28 August 2011 (CDT)
I was hoping that they would make the P228 a P229 or SIG Pro, but I guess the P250 is okay. When I first saw the P2000 in the trailer, it took me a while to realize what it was (it looked really round-y) and then I thought it was a P30. I think they could have updated the graphics a LOT more while keeping the CS feel.----JazzBlackBelt-- 16:16, 28 August 2011 (CDT)

Glock 17

Are you sure it's the 17? The gun looks small, like a compact. However, I have no idea whether it's possible to convert a Glock 19 to full auto... Sentient6 12:57, 22 April 2012 (CDT)

Whether it is possible in real life rarely has anything to do with guns in games. This gun is a mix, having the slide and frame lenth of a 17, but the grip of a 26 (only the subcompact pistols have the cut out in the bottom of the grip for a flush fitting magazine). --commando552 15:29, 22 April 2012 (CDT)
The gun kinda looks like the glock from L4D2, only reskinned --Gran28 07:46, 8 May 2012 (CDT)

Should I get this?

The game looks fun, and I know it's not just an updated version of CS or CS:S (there are some new game modes, I've heard). Do any of you think it's good, or would you recommend it? Jeddostotle7 1:42, 22 April 2012 (PST)

Just got the game last night for PS3 and I highly recommend it. It is a completely redone version of CS. Classic maps are brought back but made more balanced, lots more weapons (especially shotguns), and the best part is the highly varied customization for play style; allowing you to play with either the wireless controller, PS Move sharpshooter, and even a mouse with keyboard (all of these control styles can also have each button catered to what different action you wish to allocate to. It is limited to 5 v 5 but with the lack of regenerating health the thrill of killing someone is exhilarating. Best yet the game is only $14.00 on the PSN so it is cheaper than most of the other titles and much better than the earlier equivalent Modern Combat.--A single bullet can change history 10:51, 24 August 2012 (PST)

Images and Information

I'm in the beta for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Just wondering if it 's allowed for me to send some images to the article? Apparently in the game there is a gun named the M4A4?

Nice thing I just noticed

Old news probably, but I just noticed that the M249 does not have an infinite ammo belt like in most FPS games:

It's like the Mk46 in R6V and R6V2. Kinda cool. - bozitojugg3rn4ut (talk) 03:52, 4 January 2014 (EST)

Eh, I remember this was also done for the M249 SAW in Half-Life: Opposing Force. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 09:03, 6 January 2015 (EST)

New revolver in Winter 2015 update

http://www.pcgamer.com/csgo-winter-update-adds-festively-obscene-pistol

It appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 327 Performance Center R8 with rails and replaces the Desert Eagle slot. --SSgt_LuLZ (talk) 22:15, 9 December 2015 (GMT)

The weapons called the "R8 Revolver" in-game and costs about $850 to purchase. And it has managed to beat the Desert Eagle for ridiculously overpowered handguns. It can drop anyone in full armor with 1-2 shots, has a trigger pull on par with a VP70 and can be fanned.

You can fan a SA/DA revolver like a SAA and it can drop anyone with 1 shot. CS:GO just got interesting. -- PaperCake 17:20, 9 December 2015 (EST)

CS:GO just turned to shit is what im hearing, i wouldn't know though since i don't play it.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 17:40, 9 December 2015 (EST)

Mk 18?

The M4A4 look like the Commando from Black Ops, but the front part (not the front sight). I need more information about the Commando and the M4A4. --Treliazz777 (talk) 23:05, 16 March 2016 (EDT)

As we said on the page, the M4A4 is a Mk. 18 style AR-15 rifle, with the KAC handguard and ARMS#40 rear sight. The Commando in Black Ops is a Colt 733 style carbine fitted with a Weaver rail and a generic flip up BUIS that was reused for most of Black Ops other rifles. -- PaperCake 00:38, 17 March 2016 (EST).

Some missing weapons.

So, I've noticed a few things missing here. I might grab these in the future, provided that I find the time and motivation (and figure out how to upload screenshots). Namely: there are a few signs proclaiming that no weapons are allowed on the premises (I recall one on Bank, and one on Office), some of which have Beretta 92FSes, and others of which have compact-sized Glocks (i.e. 19s). There is a technical behind the fence at the back of T spawn on Short Dust with a low-detail DShKM on it, and the entire Defuse gamemode revolves around a bundle of M1112 C4 charges with an improvised detonator attached. There might be some others as well; I'll have to go through my screenshots to check. Peace, Pyr0m4n14c (talk) 11:42, 4 August 2017 (EDT)

Gun Cabinet

So, after dealing with the massive headache of trying to play on Militia (they removed it for no obvious reason, and downloading the official Valve version from the workshop always results in a "Failed to find a dedicated server" message when I try to play with bots, so I had to use a user-uploaded version instead), I finally managed to screencap some guns in a cabinet that I remembered seeing. I initially thought that they were just simple Double Barreled Shotguns, but now, I'm not so sure.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
Here are the guns in the cabinet...

...and here's a closeup. The one on the left seems to be a percussion-lock weapon of some sort, judging by the design of the hammer.

Do you guys have any idea what these might be? Pyr0m4n14c (talk) 22:39, 27 March 2018 (EDT)

Anybody? Hello? Pyr0m4n14c (talk) 15:27, 30 March 2018 (EDT)
I can get a cleaner shot from using CS:GO's Hammer Editor. I'll upload it here. -SeptemberJack (talk) 22:28, 30 March 2018 (EDT)
This is the same cabinet mesh from the older CS:Source, if this would make things easier for anyone. DJ_von_CAHEK (talk) 13:26, 19 May 2018 (EDT)

Spotted a couple of pistols in a piece of graffiti.

They're pretty low-detail, but I figured that they might be ID-able, especially if this is based on an actual image; the one on the right looks a bit like a Glock 19. Thoughts?

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
The graffiti in question, on gd_risalto. Yes, this game has not one, but two maps set in Venice.

M9A1 Inox

I'm not sure about this, but does the "Beretta M9A1 Inox" actually exist in real life? --Wuzh (talk) 08:46, 4 May 2020 (EDT)
