Shot in the Coffin (Russian title Vystrel v grobu, Ukrainian title Postril u truni) is a Ukrainian Russian-language 1992 action comedy directed by Nikolay Zaseev-Rudenko. A trio of seasoned criminals - Butylkin (Mikhail Pugovkin), Kovbasyuk (Yevgeny Morgunov) and Bulkin (Spartak Mishulin) - turn into legal politicans and plan to take the power. The only man who can stop them is super agent Colonel Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov). But Subbota's mission is complicated by his superiors, led by Gen. Likyorov (Romualds Ancans), who want to make a secret collusion with the criminals.

PSM

In the opening scene Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov) carries a PSM pistol in shoulder holster. This is the late model with wide grips. The pistol isn't seen in action.

Most handguns in the movie are Tokarev TT-33 pistols. Both pre- and post-1947 versions are seen. TTs are used by Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov), Stella (Svetlana Kopylova), Butylkin (Mikhail Pugovkin), Kovbasyuk (Yevgeny Morgunov), Bulkin (Spartak Mishulin), Generals Likyorov (Romualds Ancans), Chachin (Vitaliy Konyaev), Konyachkov (Vladimir Korenev), Kagorny (Igor Vasilev), Sklifosovsky (Vyacheslav Voronin), Maj. Bukhaylo (Sergei Onikiyenko), Capt. Shmurdyak (Aleksandr Ageyenkov) and numerous bodyguards.

Submachine Guns

Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II

When the trio of criminals in disuise ambush Gen. Sklifosovsky and his men in cafe, Bulkin (Spartak Mishulin) is armed with the Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II. In the final scene MP28 is used by Stepan Subbota (Stepan Starchikov).

Bulkin, disguised as a cleaning woman, aims the MP28. Note that the barrel shroud looks different from the one used on MP28/II; it has lesser holes and a different muzzle. Possibly it is a custom work that was made during the repair of broken gun.

Degtyaryov DP-27 (visually modified to resemble Lewis)

A Degtyaryov DP-27, visually modified to resemble Lewis, is used by Kovbasyuk (Yevgeny Morgunov) during the encounter in cafe. This prop looks the same one used in Tachanka s yuga, filmed by the same studio but 15 years earlier (the same shape of the barrel cover and magazine that look different from the ones, used on most other fake Lewis guns). The machine gun doesn't fire on sceen.
