The Molot Bekas ("bekas" means Jack snipe, a type of bird) is a Russian pump-action shotgun based on the KS-23 for the civilian market. The first version was developed by TsNIITochMash and was essentially a smoothbore KS-23 chambered in 16/35 (1.38") gauge. This variant was produced by Molot in limited numbers during the early 90s. The weapon was intended for law enforcement purposes, and therefore used its own unique cartridge, similar to "Rhodesian" minishells. However, in practice, this ammunition did not bring much attention and the weapon turned out to be very highly demanding in production and, accordingly, expensive. Therefore, this model was soon discontinued. Later, Molot's specialists decided to return to this design and improve it (around 1995), almost immediately after that the shotgun was converted to a more powerful and familiar 16/70 cartridge, and finally put into mass production in 1997.

A version in 12/70 gauge was introduced in 1999, called the Molot Bekas-M. Semi-auto variants of the Bekas-M are also produced; they designated as the Bekas-M-Auto.

The Molot Bekas can be configured with a variety of barrels and stocks, although magazine capacity is not adjustable.

The Molot Bekas-M has been used in the following films:
