Firestarter is a 1984 science fiction thriller based on the eponymous novel by Stephen King. The movie is directed by Mark L. Lester. The story tells about a young girl Charlie McGee (Drew Barrymore) who has a pyrokinesis ability.

Irv Manders (Art Carney) takes a Remington Model 700 rifle with sniper scope when the DSI agents appeared on his farm.
Armalite AR-7
Armalite AR-7 with sniper scope is used by John Rainbird (George C. Scott) in one scene. It appears as a tranquilizer dart gun.
M16
Several guards of the DSI headquarters carry M16 assault rifles. They are never seen close enough to identify the model with sure but due to the year of filming (1984) these rifles are most likely M16A1s.
