RDG-1 smoke grenade (Diagram)

RDG-1 (Ruchnaya dymovaya granata, smoke hand grenade) is a Soviet WWII smoke grenade (at that time it was simply RDG and it became RDG-1 only after RDG-2 was put into servie). The grenade was designed in 1941 by K.Khess in besieged Leningrad. No less than 6,87 million pieces were produced till the end of the war. In 1950s RDG-1 was replaced by more advanced RDG-2.
