The Outpost is a 2020 war film directed by Rod Lurie and adapted from the 2012 non-fiction book The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor by Jake Tapper. The film depicts the real-life Battle of Kamdesh, which occurred on October 3, 2009 when Taliban fighters assaulted U.S. Army soldiers at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan's Nuristan Province, resulting in one of the bloodiest battles of the War in Afghanistan. The film stars Scott Eastwood as Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha and Caleb Landry Jones as Specialist Ty Carter, who both earned the Medal of Honor for their actions during the battle.
The following weapons were used in the film The Outpost:
The M4A1 Carbine is used by nearly all of the U.S. Army soldiers at Combat Outpost Keating, including Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha (Scott Eastwood) and Specialist Ty Carter (Caleb Landry Jones). The M4A1 Carbines are all fitted with ACOG sights and AN/PEQ-2 laser sights.
