The following guns were used in the film Watchmen:
- I just got back from watching this in theatres and will add what I saw now while it is fresh in my mind. After I list them poorly, I'll add pics and links. - Gunmaster45
M79 grenade launcher
The Comedian uses an M79 grenade launcher to fire smoke rounds at people trying to vandalize the buildings with the phrase "Who watches the Watchmen?" in the rioting crowds.
M1911A1
The Comedian uses his issued M1911A1 sidearm in Vietnam to kill a Vietnamese women who slashes him with a broken bottle after he tells her he is leaving her and their baby behind. A criminal can be seen beaten by the old Night Owl armed with a 1911 and a criminal tries to draw his 1911 on Dr. Manhattan before being blow up.
D&L Sports Professional Model Longslides
The Comedian's sidearms right up to his murder are custom 1911 D&L Sports Professional Model Longslides with ornate smiley-face grips to match the Comedian logo. They have "Nixon 1970" written on the grips, indicating they were a gift from Nixon for serving in the Vietnam war. At the beginning of the film, Comedian tries to bring up one of his 1911s to combat the attacking assailant in his home but fires off one stray shot to no avail and is disarmed. For the most part, these guns are only seen in his holsters or in a presentation case any other time.
Zastava M70B
Vietnamese Soldiers destroyed by Dr. Manhattan wield folding stock Zastava M70B AK rifles noted by their folding grenade launcher sights. I don't believe these were ever issued to Vietcong (input?) \ --VC didn't really have "issue" they just took what they could get.
CAR-15
Seen in the hands of NYPD and soldiers in Vietnam. They have slab-side recievers.
Ruger AC556
SWAT members trying to apprehend Rorshach in Molloch's house are seen armed with Ruger AC556 rifles with folding stocks.
Winchester Model 70
In a promotional image, the Comedian is seen with a smoking Winchester Model 70.
Carcano M91/38
The Comedian is seen holding a scoped Carcano M91/38 while watching John F. Kennedy's car drive by. This implies it was him who assassinated JFK and not Lee Harvey Oswald.
Remington 870
The Comedian poses with a Remington 870 and his M79 grenade launcher in a promotional image.
Ithaca 37
The Comedian fires on rampaging crowd members with an Ithaca 37 shotgun. It is unclear but it is assumed he is using rubber shot or else he is murdering civilians, which seems unbecoming of a vigilante.
Franchi PA3
Seen in the Comedian's closet when Rorschach investigates his home. In the original graphic novel, the only thing seen in the closet was his costume, a MAC-10, a few knives and his 1911's and holsters.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers are used by the guards in Ryker's prison, one of which is taken by Silk Spectre II and later used to shoot Adrian Veidt, who impressively catches the bullet.
Smith & Wesson Model 686
A Smith & Wesson Model 686 with a four inch barrel is used by Roy Chess to shoot at Adrian Veidt and kill two emplyees (wounds one) before Veidt hits him with a pole. In the novel the gun was a Beretta Cheetah modeled gun.
Walther PPK
A Walther PPK is left at Molloch's side after he is murdered in which we see the person planting it unscrews the suppressor and places it next to him. Early though when Rorschach picks it up, it appears to be a Colt Python, although it is not verified until the DVD comes out.
.22 Revolver
An unknown .22 revolver is seen drawn by the man who murdered the little girl and he draws it when entering his house but it is disarmed by Rorschach.
M1 Garand
During the opening sequence summing up the past, Hippies stick flowers into police member's M1 Garand rifles before the police fire them on the hippies, flowers still in the muzzles. In reality, the police during the Vietnam war riots used M14 rifles, which has phased out the Garand.
M1928 Thompson
A thug is seen foiled in the opening credits while firing an M1928 Thompson into the air. In the graphic novel, a picture is seen of The Comedian holding an M1928A1 while serving in the Pacific during WWII.
Sawed Off Double Barrel Shotgun
Drawn by a criminal before he is killed by Dr. Manhattan. Had exposed hammers.
Rorshach's Grapple Gun
Specifically designed by Nite Owl II for him, Rorshach first uses this gun to enter Edward Blake's apartment and later uses it as a weapon to break a SWAT members collar bone.
