I noticed that all of the british commandos walk around with the Thompson's bolts closed...I thought this was just a movie mistake, but during action scenes, they pulled the triggers (bolts closed), the guns ''fired'' and then the bolt moved backwards....but weren't Tommyguns open-bolt operating?

Isn't it odd how Rains, when he fires his M1911A1:

  • runs out of ammunition after three shots, even though he hasn't used the pistol at any point during the mission;
  • doesn't have the slide lock back after the gun runs out; and
  • manages to get his gun to do some kinetic clicking even though it's a single-action?
