Many of the things taught to the students regarding the M1 Garand is good solid information. For the most part the Garand is shown being used correctly and I can only note one Hollywood style moment. The Hollywood moment would be when prior to the final battle a series of camera angles show many of the students loading their rifles simply by grasping the closed charging handle and racking it without inserting an en bloc clip. As the en bloc clips cannot be held in the rifle without chambering a round this is incorrect. Perhaps one of the more accurate moments in when Jang-Beom loads an individual round into the Garand and eases the bolt onto it instead of slamming it shut. If a round is chambered by hand and the bolt is allowed to ride freely onto it with no resistance met a slam fire is possible. | ||

The following weapons were seen in the film 71: Into the Fire:
M1 Garand
Most of the South Korean soldiers, U.S. soldiers and student soldiers use M1 Garand rifles. The rifle is shown extensively as the learn the basics. Some of the South Korean and US soldiers wield M1 Carbines with 30 round magazines.
Mosin-Nagant
Most of the North Korean soldiers use Mosin Nagant rifles.
SKS
The SKS is seen briefly in the hands of North Korean soldiers at the beginning of the film.
PPSh-41
Some North Korean soldiers and some students are seen wielding the PPSh-41 submachine-guns. Most notably Kap-jo at the end of the film.
Maxim M1910
The Maxim M1910 is used on the rooftop by Jang-Beom and Kap-Jo. It also seen mounted on North Korean Army's halftrack.
Degtyaryov DPM
The Degtyaryov DPM is used to great effect on the rooftop.
Nambu Type 14
The Nambu Type 14 pistol can be seen in the hands of several North Korean officers. Most notably Mu-Rang carries one.
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 pistol makes an appearance in the hands of Suk-Dae. It also seen in several U.S. officers's and South Korean officers's holsters.
Browning M1919A4
At the beginning of the film, Browning M1919A4 is seen used by South Korean soldiers.
M20 "Super Bazooka"
A M20 "Super Bazooka" is used by South Korean soldiers to destroy North Korean tank.
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
Student soldiers uses Mk 2 Hand Grenades to against North Korean soldiers.
