Don't think those are Karabiner 98s

The Rear sight looks different than a K98. mpm

Oh right - sights broke a little :)--Pandolfini 15:21, 3 June 2012 (CDT)

No it's NOT. That's a Gewehr 98 rear sight, not a Karabiner 98K sight. Are there any other screenshots? That one rifle seems to be a pre-98K cut down conversion of a Gewehr 98 to the 98K style. MoviePropMaster2008 06:31, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

Can it be Karabiner 98 (put into service in 1902)? It has the same rear sight as Gewehr 98 and its length is right the same that is on the screenshot. It has different front sight but it's easier to convert a front sight than to cut dowb the long rifle. Greg-Z 07:04, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

It will probably Mauser - carbine is that, but do not know the specific type. So put him there add. Or write the exact link.--Pandolfini 08:20, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

If you don't know, don't do a wild guess and put the wrong identification on the pic. That makes IMFDB look bad. MoviePropMaster2008 13:45, 4 June 2012 (CDT)

It is not too wild guess, it still can be considered also as Karabiner, I personally can not tell any difference compared to the model, only is very worn. Also, it is still to enough not understand - after all Karabiner is the same as the Mauser 98, only it is a short, or no ?--Pandolfini 16:06, 4 June 2012 (CDT)
