Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) carries a Ruger Vaquero in .45 Long Colt as his duty sidearm throughout the film. He uses this weapon to persuade the kids to remain on the ground while he questions one of them about the suicide.
Smith & Wesson Model 27
The hitchhiker (Lauren German) is seen using a 3.5" .357 Smith & Wesson Model 27 Magnum revolver in the film. The Sheriff later takes the gun and puts it in his empty ankle holster. Morgan (Jonathan Tucker) threatens Sheriff Hoyt with this revolver and ends up dry firing at him. Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) fires this revolver at Erin's getaway car.
