Brick (2005)

Brick is a 2005 neo-noir written and directed by Rian Johnson (The Brothers Bloom) starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lucas Haas, Noah Fleiss and Nora Zehetner. It was the first feature for Johnson, who was inspired by the works of Dashiell Hammett, but did not want to make a typical detective film, thus the high school setting.
