The following guns appear in the film Gran Torino:
Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) uses an M1 Garand that he kept from the Korean War to chase Thao Vang Lor (Bee Vang) out of his garage and scare the Hmong gangmembers off his lawn. Walt misfires it when slipping in his garage when he is chasing after Thao.
Error creating thumbnail: File missingM1 Garand - .30-06.Error creating thumbnail: File missingWalt loads an "en-bloc" into his M1 Garand (which looks to be loaded with blanks) when he hears Thao in his garage.Error creating thumbnail: File missingWalt aims his M1 Garand at Thao in the garage, holding his right arm way too high for a trained soldier. (Disagreed. Raising the shoulder makes a nice and firm socket for the buttstock, and the muscle will work like a recoil pad. This is also how riflemen were trained back then. For all the non-tacticool, traditional rifles, this is a superior stance. There are old instruction videos on youtube, check it out.)Error creating thumbnail: File missing"Get off my lawn!" Colt M1911A1
Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) uses a pre-war commercial M1911A1 (as evidenced by the blue finish) that he kept from the Korean War to aim at the "Spooks" to scare them away from Thao's sister Sue Lor (Ahney Her), and is seen carrying it around in many scenes. Walt carries it around in his belt without a holster.
Error creating thumbnail: File missingMartin teaches Thao that when you greet someone as a "old Italian prick", you're liable to get your head blown off. He does it again anyways.Error creating thumbnail: File missingWalt grabs the Remington 870 shotgun as Martin points it at Thao. Note the lack of trigger discipline. Although, considering the lack of focus, it is possible that he has his finger resting on the trigger gaurd.
