The Peacemaker is a 1997 action film which stars George Clooney and Nicole Kidman as a Special Forces colonel and nuclear expert who must locate a trainload of missing Russian nuclear warheads. The film begins with a train leaving a Russian military base, carrying former Soviet Union nuclear weapons scheduled to be decommissioned and destroyed. Along the way, a team of shadowy soldiers kills everyone on the train and steals the nukes. They leave one, which denotates and destorys the evidence after it collides with another train full of innocent civilians. In Washington D.C., a brillant young nuclear weapons expert Dr. Julia Kelly (Nicole Kidman), believes that it wasn't an accident. She convinces the top Washinton brass, who assign Lt. Colonel Tom Devoe (George Clooney), a smooth, but effective Special Forces officer to aid her. Together, they work to find the missing nukes, untangling a web of intrigue involving the U.N. and a Bosnian diplomat, whose family was killed at Sarajavo's infamous sniper valley.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is seen being used by a security team to kill Devroe’s friend. Several NYC police officers use them as well, but due to the never halting camera movements, I couldn’t get a clear picture.

M16A1

Several New York National Guard troops show up to aid in the finding of the bomb, carrying very outdated M16A1s. This is a correct prop for the National Guard Troops given the time this movie was made. M16A1s were being issued to National Guard Infantry units as late as 2002. There are probably some Guard units that still have them today.
