Sadly just like the Grenade Launcher, damage is both dissapointing as the "Blue" zombies can survive ''multiple rockets'' without a headshot, ammo is even more limited, the weapon lacks splash damage and the aiming slider moves incredibly quickly, making the M202 actually arguably the worst weapon in the game as weapons due to how difficult it is to land shots as well as the scarcity of rockets compared to more practical weapons.

Resident Evil Gaiden (2002)

Resident Evil Gaiden is a 2002 Gameboy Color spin-off title for the Resident Evil series. The player plays as Barry Burton as he searches for Leon Kennedy as contact was lost with him above the passanger ship "Starlight".

Gameplay consists of top down exporation with first person combat with the player being able to quickly swap between 3 characters with their own health bars in combat, Barry, Leon and Lucia, the sole survivor of the ship's passengers.

During combat, the player has a slider that moves back and forth across a bar with white zones (with a dark middle) under each enemy, the player must press attack when the slider is in a white zone to white to hit the enemy with the dark middle zone resulting in headshots for extra damage, generally the more powerful weapons have the slider move faster which makes landing shots harder.

The following weapons appear in the video game Resident Evil Gaiden:

Glock

An Glock pistol that's too low detail to tell it's exact model appears as the "Handgun" and is the player's starting weapon. Due to the game's mechanics, the pistol can only be equipped by one party member at a time despite both Leon and Barry being shown with pistols at the same time in one cutscene.

The game's artwork in cutscenes depicts the pistol mostly generic looking and with the ejection port often switching sides. It may possibly be a Glock 17 as the icon is similar to the Glock 17 from Resident Evil Survivor and several other inventory icons appear to be recreated from weapon icons from the console RE games.

Shotgun

A generic Shotgun can be found by the player in one of the ship's corridors near the start of the game. It's sprite doesn't appear to be based on any of the console Resident Evil weapons or if it was, has been altered to the point of no longer resembling it.

Assault Rifle

An Assault Rifle can be found by the player in one of the 3F Cabins.

While the icon is new and the stock is now wooden, the rifle appears to be an attempt to recreate the Resident Evil 3: Nemesis assault rifle, (Which was an M4A1 Carbine in gameplay and a Colt Law Enforcement Carbine in the inventory) with a very similar scope, foregrip and bipod though with a straight magazine.

Each ammo pick-up gives 16 bursts and the weapon is fairly high damage for an early Resident Evil assault rifle but the slider moves faster making landing shots harder.

"Hk-p" (Fictional Grenade Launcher)

The same fictional "Hk-p" Grenade Launcher from Resident Evil 3 Nemesis based on an DefTech 1315 37mm gas gun and M79 grenade launcher returns with slightly edited icons as two seperate weapons firing either regular grenades or gas grenades.

Sadly for fans of Resident Evil's explosive weaponry, the Grenade Launcher is relatively weak in this installment, with the blue stronger version of the basic zombies that are common in the late-game easily survivng multiple grenades and the weapon lacking any sort of splash damage mechanic.

The Gas version however will deal damage even if it misses a target as after it's fired the battle screen will be filled with green gas that deals passive damage quickly to all enemies on-screen making it the only weapon that can hit multiple enemies at once as well as being highly effective against the Tyrant boss.

M202 FLASH

The M202 FLASH returns from Resident Evil 3 Nemesis with Gaiden's icon for it clearly being a recreation of the RE3 icon for the M202. Sadly just like the Grenade Launcher, damage is both dissapointing as the "Blue" zombies can survive multiple rockets without a headshot, ammo is even more limited, the weapon lacks splash damage and the aiming slider moves incredibly quickly, making the M202 actually arguably the worst weapon in the game due to how difficult it is to land attacks as well as the scarcity of rockets compared to more practical weapons.

Machine Gun

An unusable machine gun is used by Umbrella personnel, it is presumably ment to be an Heckler & Koch MP5 considering how Umbrella personal tend to be depicted with it, such as U.S.S Commandos in Resident Evil 2 and later Umbrella troopers in Resident Evil Zero.
