1923 is a 2022 Paramount+ original streaming series that is a second streaming prequel to the Paramount Network series Yellowstone. Set thirty years following the events of the prequel series 1883, 1923 follows rancher Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford), the brother of 1883's John Dutton (portrayed by Tim McGraw) as he struggles to maintain his cattle empire on the Yellowstone Ranch during the time of the Great Depression and the Western Expansion. Like Yellowstone and 1883, this series was co-created by Taylor Sheridan, the director of such feature films as Wind River and Those Who Wish Me Dead, and the screenwriter of such films as Sicario, Hell or High Water and Without Remorse.
