The Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr, was the world's first anti-tank rifle (developed so soon that the German language did not even have its own word for tanks yet, hence the gun's name being Tankgewehr and the TuF round's name meaning "Tank und Flieger", or "Tank and Aircraft"), it was used at the end of World War 1 in February of 1918, and is very rare to find today. The .525 round was originally developed to be used in a new version of the [[Maxim machine gun]] known as the MG18. The .525 round was influential in the development of the .50 BMG round for the [[Browning M2]].
