The CZ 83 is a commercial descendant of the Czech VZ-82 (which supplanted the VZ 52 "CZ 52" pistol in Czechoslovakian service at the time).  They are identical models, and are found chambered in 9mm Makarov, .380 ACP or .32 ACP.  The Military VZ 82 (sometimes called the CZ 82) had a double stack high capacity magazine.  Earlier versions of the CZ 83 pistol had a rounded trigger guard, while later versions have a finger step.
