Winter Wind (Zimniy veter ) is the second film of Soviet TV series Waves of the Black Sea (Volny Chyornogo morya) (filmed in 1975, released in 1976). It is a screen adaptation of the novel "Zimniy veter" by Valentin Kataev. It is set in the city of Odessa on the Black Sea coast and depicts the fate of the main characters, Petya (Pyotr) Bachey and Gavrik (Gavrila) Chernoivanenko, during the World War 1 and Russian revolution 1917.

Nagant M1895
Russian Army officers, including Praporshchik (Ensign rank) Petya Bachey (Evgeniy Leonov-Gladyshev ), and revolutionaries, including Gavrik Chernoivanenko (Vladimir Volkov ), widely use Nagant M1895 revolvers. These revolvers are of anachronistic post-1930 version.

Mauser C96 "Bolo"
Sinichkin (Fyodor Panasenko ), the Commissar of the Odessa revolutionary Committee, carries a Mauser C96 "Bolo" pistol. During the funeral of slain Red Guards, same pistol is carried by Rodion Zhukov (Sergey Nikonenko ). "Bolo" is out of time for 1917.

In one scene Pyotr Bachey (Evgeniy Leonov-Gladyshev ) gets an M1911A1 pistol, standing for original M1911 that were were supplied to Russia in 1917.
