Squad is a tactical first-person shooter video game set in a current-day Middle-Eastern theater involving US, Russian and various Insurgent forces. It is a spiritual successor to the award-winning Project Reality modification for Battlefield 2. The goal of Squad is to create a "tactical first person shooter built around teamwork and cooperation". The development was announced in October 2014 and it is currently available exclusively on Steam (PC). It is still in development.
The following weapons appear in the video game Squad:
Some U.S. Army soldiers are seen with a Walther P99 / Beretta 92FS hybrid in their holste. The frame belongs to the Walther P99 but the slide, hammer, safety/decocker, muzzle, and rear sight are similar to the Beretta 92FS's. The weapon is not usable.
The M4A1 carbine is the standard primary weapon for the US Army. The rifle is fitted with a railed handguard and comes in many configurations with different sighting systems (standard carry-handle iron sights, Aimpoint CompM4 red dot sight or ACOG optic sight) and rail attachments (vertical foregrip or M203 grenade launcher).
The standard M4 carbine with a correct three-round burst selector is usable by Militia riflemen. It comes in a single configuration, with plastic handguards and iron sights.
The AK-74M is the standard primary weapon for the Russian Ground Forces. It comes in multiple configurations with attachments such as the 1P78 2.8x scope or the GP-25 grenade launcher.
The standard AK-74 is usable by the Insurgent and Militia forces, and can be fitted a GP-25 for use by the Grenadier class.
The side-folding AKS-74 is also usable by the Insurgents and Militiamen and is equipped with a 1P78 scope.
The M249 SAW Paratrooper is the standard light machine gun for the US Army and the Militia. The US Army's gun sports a CompM4 red dot sight, while the Militia's gun is naked. Both use 200-round boxes to store the ammunition.
The RPK-74M is the standard light machine gun for the Russian Ground Forces. It is issued with 45-round plastic magazines and comes in two variants, one with iron sights and the other with a 1P78 scope.
The RPK-74 is available to the Insurgents. It comes with 45-round bakelite magazines.
The RPK is available to the Insurgents. It comes with 75-round drum magazines.
The M110 SASS is the standard sniper rifle for the US Army. Strangely, is fitted with a 4X ACOG sight instead of the usual Leupold Mark 4, which will be changed in the future according to the weapon's page on the official wiki.
The GP-25 is the standard grenade launcher for the Russian Ground Forces, Insurgents and Militia. It is seen mounted on the AK-74 and AK-74M, and is able to fire high explosives and a variety of smoke grenades.
The M203 grenade launcher is the standard grenade launcher for the US Army. It is seen mounted on the M4A1 Carbine, and is able to fire high explosives and a variety of smoke grenades.
The RPG-7 is the standard rocket launcher for the Russian Ground Forces, Insurgents and Militia. It is issued with two PG-7VM HEAT rockets for use against armor, and one OG-7V FRAG anti-personnel rocket. Instead of reloading the launcher when switching between the two rounds, he pulls out another launcher.
