El Gringo (2012)

El Gringo is a 2012 action film that focuses on a former government operative (Scott Adkins) who finds himself on the run in Mexico from cartel soldiers as well as corrupt law enforcement. While the film is set in Mexico, the majority of the film was shot in Bulgaria and Louisiana, explaining the unusual amount of blank-firing only replicas used in the film.
