Backstrom is a television crime series that follows the cases assigned to the Special Crimes Unit of the Portland Police Department, headed by the "overweight, offensive, irascible" Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson) who, despite his grating qualities, is a terrific investigator. It was cancelled by Fox after one season.
